What supplies to gather

The supplies you’ll need will depend on how many of the classes you plan to take.

  1. The supplies you’ll need will depend on how many of the classes you plan to take.

If you’re only interested in taking one or 2 of these classes:

Skip down to the classes you’d like to take in the modules below. Each class opens in a new window and in it you’ll find a PDF detailing the supplies used for each class, with links for buying and advice on substituting on that class page (see the modules below). Plus, the first video for each class also covers what’s used in more detail. So we’ve got you covered!

If you’re wanting to try all 4 classes, you can do so with:

    • Some smooth, thick watercolour paper. (links from supplies page – sketchbook)
    • An HB pencil
    • Some small watercolour brushes with short hairs
    • The core 6 paints

There is an overlap of paints used in the 3 free painting classes, so if you’ve got no paints at all, and are keen to take all the classes, with the minimum paints purchased, here’s a set of 6 paints you could buy and be able to complete them all – by mixing to create the other colours.

Realistic Watercolour Poppy

With its big, bright, silky petals and the contrasting dark and detailed centre, this poppy is so much fun to paint.

  1. Paint a detailed, realistic red poppy

By layering watercolour paint using my unique wet-on-dry method, we’ll create masses of 3D form. When we add the details at the end, it’s going to be so satisfying to see the painting come together!
